Puppy playtime is the best time to fully bond and have fun with your furball! Puppies have lots of energy so they will rarely ever pass up the opportunity to play a nice game with you. Throwing a ball for your puppy to chase after can become pretty boring for the both of you. Change up your puppy’s playtime session so your puppy can be entertained.

Here are 5 fun games that help you and your puppy bond with each other:

  1. Hide and seek. This game encourages your puppy to remain active and mentally stimulated while they look for you everywhere. Just hide in an area that’s easy to find and call out your puppy’s name so they can search for you. Your puppy may be able to follow some of the game’s rules (no counting!) but it’s fun enough to prevent boredom in both of you.
  2. Tug-of-war. What’s another great bonding game for you and your pup? Tug-of-war, of course! Purchase a rope toy that’s designed for your puppy’s teeth and hold it in front of them to encourage playtime. Of course, some puppies may get a little rough while playing so make sure your puppy knows the command “stop.” If your furbaby doesn’t listen, immediately stop the game.
  3. Fetch with toys. Use a ball, stick, or another object to play fetch with your puppy. Make sure these toys are specifically made for your puppy’s mouth. You can also use your puppy’s other toys to play fetch. We recommend throwing your furry friends toys as far and high as you can so they are also exercising while they play.
  4. The three cup game. This game is more of a mental exercise than it is a physical one. It is still extremely fun for you and your pup! Line 3 cups near your furbaby and make sure they see you place a yummy snack under a cup. Have them select the cup that has the treat and praise them. Once you try this a few times, make it more challenging by mixing the cups everywhere.
  5. Puppy soccer. Most puppies love playing soccer! Grab a ball that you’re okay with your furry friend biting and chewing on. Kick the ball around and have your puppy chase it around. Like fetch, this game helps keep your puppy physically active and entertained at all times.

By playing these fun games with your puppy, you can help alleviate their boredom and build a strong friendship with them. We hope you and your furry companion have lots of fun together!
